I work with clients of all ages from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds, sexual identities and preferences, and religious and spiritual beliefs. Some have had no previous experience with therapy, while others have returned to therapy because they found the process helpful in the past. There is no “right” or “wrong” way to engage in therapy; each client’s journey is unique. All you need bring to the equation is a sense of curiosity about yourself and others, a willingness to stretch in new ways, and the recognition that change requires effort and persistence. Your hard work will be rewarded when you reach your desired destination knowing you’ve arrived there through your own efforts and that the results are yours to keep.
It is common to feel nervous before your first appointment. Although each client and couple is different, initial sessions typically include an exploration of the issue bringing you in and how it is impacting your life/relationship; relevant background history; goals for therapy; and a brief discussion of how I work. Subsequent sessions will focus less on information-gathering and more on working with whatever issue(s) have been identified. While our work may bring up painful feelings, change is sometimes difficult and this is a normal part of the growth process.
Hours: Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday 2 p.m. – 9 p.m.; Thursday by appointment; Saturday 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Because each client has unique needs, a variety of scheduling options are available. Fees are based on session length and treatment modality (i.e., individual vs. couples) and may be paid by cash, personal check, Chase Quickpay or credit card. Payment is expected at the time services are rendered. Please feel free to inquire about specific fees during your initial contact. Please note that once you have scheduled an appointment, you are responsible for paying for the session unless you provide at least 24 hours’ notice of cancellation.
You may be eligible to receive reimbursement from your health insurance company if you have out-of-network benefits that cover mental health services. Save time and simplify the process of verifying eligibility and coverage by allowing us to do it for you. Clients wishing to submit for reimbursement will be provided with all necessary documentation and will be guided in the process of filing claims.
